LICENSE FOR FUNCTIONING AS PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM PDS CARRIAGE CONTRACTOR License No.________________________ Name and style of the appointed PDS carriage contractor: TERMS AND CONDITIONS 01. Subject to the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Distribution of articles order-2005, and other guidelines issued by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir from time to time, Shri/Smti ___________M/s_______________________ is hereby authorized to operate as PDS carriage contractor for the following area(s): 02. No person or firm or registered Co-operative Society, granted license as wholesale nominee and Carriage Contractor for PDS items, shall sub-let the license or engage any other party to carry on the business of drawal of PDS items and their transportation. 03. The licensee shall arrange transportation of PDS items from the FCI depots released by the authorized representative/ district PDS nominee etc. as directed by the district authorities and deliver the same to the final destination as per the laid down procedures. The carriage contractor shall bear all the incidental and unforeseen expenditures whatsoever and the expenditure thus incurred shall not be re-imbursable to the carriage contractor, other than the approved carriage rates. 04. The licensee shall be liable to deliver the quantity of all the items at the destination in full as was handed over to him at FCI depot and obtain receipted challans. 05. The licensee shall make good any loss of PDS items while in transit, to the Government. 06. The carriage contractor shall be solely responsible to safeguard and protect the goods on transit from loss/ damage as the case maybe. They shall arrange temporary storage etc. during the transit, if warranted and shall be responsible to ensure the quality and quantity of the stocks taken from the origin to till its final delivery point. 07. The consignment shall be opened in presence of the authorized, representative of district nominee to ascertain the quality and quantity of goods before acceptance at the destination. 08. The carriage rates shall be admissible as per the approved carriage rates fixed through open tender and its subsequent notification in this regard. 09. Not withstanding anything contained herein, the licensee shall observe and be bound by all laws, rules, regulations and other statutes which are in force/ applicable and shall be liable for penal action and payment of compensation for violation/ contravention of such status. 10. This license shall be valid This license shall be valid up to 31/03.........for first year. 11. This license shall be liable for renewal for a maximum period of one year subject to satisfactory performance, for which the licensee must apply to Government through the licensing authority.
