We hereby give you notice that a marriage under the Special Marriage Act. 1954 is intended to be solemnised between use within three calendar months from the date hereof. Length of resident (at Col.-6) Signature (Bridegroom) Place : Date : (Bride) SPECIAL MARRIAGE ACT - 1954 (U/S - 5) Conditions Relating to Solemnization of Special Marriages : 1. ...... Marriages between any two persons may be solemnized under the special Marriage Act 1954 if at the time of the marriage the following conditions are fulfilled namely : a. neither party has a spouse living : b. neither party - i) is incapable of giving a valid consent to it in consequence of unsoundness of mind. Or ii. though capable of giving a valid consent, has been suffering from mental disorder of such a to such a kind or to such an extent as to be unfit for marriage and the procreation of children or iii. has been subject to recurrent attacks of insanity or epilepsy ; a. the male has completed the age of twenty one years and the female the age of eighteen years; b. the parties are not within the degrees of prohibited relationship; 1. Notice of Intended Marriage : After filling the notice of intended marriage and duly signed by Bridegroom/Bride, the both parties may submit their notice directly to the Marriage Officer, for ..........District at ........ or may sent their Notices by post, the requisite fees of Rs.3/-by money order, mentioning the names of the parties in the money order coupon. The parties have to attach the money order receipt with their application form while sending by post. (For Example : Fees for Notice of Intended Marriage between :­ a. ................ and b) ............... 1. The marriage will be solemnised after expiry of 30 days from the date of publication but within the period of 90 days from the date of publication of the notice. The Notices/ Applications/ Money order to be addressed to :- MARRIAGE OFFICER (Under the Special Marriage Act 1954) CUM DISTRICT SUB-REGISTRAR FOR ................
